Standard Hungary-Germany 2001

This article is from a Fradi mate of mine
Maybe some lads from this board can comment?

There was a newspaper in Hungary which dealt with hooligan and ultra things and I found an article about it and I've just translated it!

"Usually the Hungarian Formula-1 race is in August so lots of Germen Schumaher fans linked this race with their Lake Balaton's holiday. Well, at that year they could complete it with a gala-game between Germany and Hungary because of the Hungarians FA 150th birthday!
There were news a few days before the game that Germen fans fought with each other at Lake Balaton so it's made the Hungarian fans to starting organize something. Germen hooligans knew that things are changed till 1994 in Hungary since from their last visit so as it was expected from them they started to
prepare with their calm, determined, intelligent way for this fight.
They could bought their tickets by showing their passports so the police wanted to prevent the events of 1994 in that way. Hungarians were waiting, the 3 big Budapest's team were in touch, but at that time we didn't know about the Germans numbers and we didn't knew if we would be okay with each other (Ferencvaros - Ujpest) However everybody felt that on seperate ways we didn't have a chance, so there were more discussions between Fradi and Ujpest. A few leader from Germany and Hungary were meeting in Budapest City Center early in the afternoon to arrange the fight's place. One of the Germans told
us that they knew about our scene's happening and they knew that there are so-called "sportmen" in Hungary and in Germany too so there is no problem to
have a good one, but we need to find a place where private persons can't be hurt. Though there were problems on both sides. It found out that East-Germans didn't want to fight together with the Westerns, but seperatly, in different
places and at different times they willing to measure their ***** with the Hungarians. And at that time it wasn't sure that Ferencvaros and Ujpest can fight together, it was just a theory, but as we know it was always an issue before an important international game, but it never worked... After all we agreed that the place will be the Germans meeting-place, Keleti railways station at 7 pm: our hooligans were meeting in Nepliget (Ferencvaros stadium), mainly 16-sector (Ferencvaros hooligans) and Fradi ultras, but Kispest Honved also went there, and later came the Ujpest mob too
(Kaos,Korps,Panthers) There was a second of silence when they arrived but it seemed that everybody could behave and concentrate to the Germans. After a
short discussion this mob of 200 people started to go to Keleti station. Germans were meeting in Keleti and their main mob with 80-100 people were in a near fast-food restaurant but they paid attention to the whole place near
the station. At 7 pm this mob started to disperse. I don't know if they did this because of a police-car or it was their tactic - waiting for Hungarians
to walked to there and attacked them from different directions. It was nearly half past 7 when Hungarian Hooligans came from the 24 tram station's street in silence. A German man in checked shirt were on the center of this square and started to waving to their mates - the opponent are here! Hungarians went to the center of the square. At that time a German mob of 40 were nearly Dozsa Gyorgy Road, they couldn't go back. They didn't have the time to be together properly, Hungarians went forward but not headlessly to the direction of the Germans near this fast-food restaurant. A few glasses and punches were trade and just a few of them stood and the others escaped to the side-streets. Then the police cars came and everything was over."
